PR-Publishing Campaign

Special Note: Some items will be started or completed first or not necessarily in this order.  This process simply serves as a guide of how our PR-Publishing process works.

Phase One – Preliminary Branding Surge – Includes all PR and branding activities including National press releases distributed through PR Newswire, photo-opportunities, reviewer process and other literary goals.
1.  Website Creation, Optimization and Social Media Integration

  • Brand Watch
  • Develop author page on VerveStar site.
  • Create optimized Author Website that serves as the Official site and as a portal to the brand.
  • Create new social sites, fan pages and be an admin to existing Social media accounts for brand watch.

2.  Develop Tie-ins to existing fan base/followers with newsletters, updates, tweets, etc. as needed.

3.  Press Releases – Three professional National/SEO optimized wire press releases distributed through our account with PR Newswire in the following methods:

  • 1st Release – Announcing the author’s signing with VerveStar

Phase Two – Book Publicity Process.

1.  Publicity development – Reviewers and Print Media listed

2.  Publicity engagement – Reviewers and Print Media Pitched

  • Advanced Reviews–During Post Production we will allow from 3-6 months minimum prior to release in order to allow time for book reviews from legitimate reviewers and The Trades.  We will send out what is necessary in order get the reviews needed which is crucial for best bookstore placement efforts.

3.  EPK (Electronic Press Kit) creation for the media use

4.  BEA and/or equivalent publicity events

5.  2nd Release – Announcement for BEA or Equivalent Event

6.  Other publicity and branding processes

Note: this is probably the longest of the Phases; it may also overlap other phases

Phase Three – Publishing Process.

1.  Editorial – Assign an editor to you for a clean edit and polish.  Edit will include a Table of Contents and Chapters with headings.

2.  Layout – Text blocking stage.

3.  Graphic/Cover Design – We will design a whole new cover scheme that includes a hardcover w/dust jacket for the book and the back cover.  This includes discussion of author photo, bio and other cover jacket/flap details.

4.  Galleys–Overseeing this Post-Production stage and putting together the book proof.

Phase Four – Buyers Inducement Book Campaign

1.  Develop PR Plan for book campaigns.  Includes -

  • Coordinate literary/book events for campaign
  • Continual recruitment of reviewers
  • Initiate Buyers interest
  • Insure that all book activities are in the best interest of the author brand
  • Other activities as needed

Phase Five– Distribution and Publishing

1.  Develop and Implement Author PR Plan that ties in all author, writing and entertainment activities –

  • Tentative Publication & Release Date Set
  • Buyer Package Presentation creation
  • Distribution–Through Ingram and may include Baker/Taylor, we will present separately to our contacts at Barnes and Noble, Borders, Hastings, Joseph-Beth, Books a Million, Libraries and other distributors for store
  • 3rd Release – Upon the debut of the Book’s release; also finalizes Publication date
  • Media Relations Publicist
  • Point of Contact for Fan base/readers
  • Publishing of Title.
  • Schedule Author, Literary and Book Events
  • Other activities as needed.
  • Continual maintenance of brand and title
